The Electric Fetus has been a gathering place for music heads and counter-culturists in Minnesota since 1968. It began as a place to get turned on to something a little out of the ordinary, and that still holds true today. Stocking a comprehensive selection of CDs, DVDs, and LPs from all genres and styles, The Fetus was recently named the 6th best record store in the country by Rolling Stone Magazine.

The Electric Fetus has thrived for 44 years on music, but it is also a place where you can find a gift for almost anyone. Roughly 40 percent of the store’s 10,000 square feet is a gift boutique, providing shoppers with a vast array of merchandise. From clothing bags, and jewelry to incense, candles and toys, the product lines cater to a diverse range of customers.

Although no one is quite sure about the origins of the store’s name, The Electric Fetus has become one of the cultural institutions of the city.
