Each year Edgar Cayce’s Association for Research and Enlightenment draws thousands of visitors to its center overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Both locals and tourists are drawn to the center for its full-service day spa, meditation room, as well as to shop for holistic health products, spiritual keepsakes, and curious treasures.
Edgar Cayce, called the “father of holistic medicine,” gained popularity in the 20th Century as a psychic and medical clairvoyant. According to shop manager, Susan Roberts, he founded his center in Virginia Beach in 1931 to promote spiritual growth, holistic health, and mindful living.
The A.R.E bookstore and gift shop carries products to support the non-profit organization, and allows visitors to explore a wide selection of items related to ancient mysteries, personal spirituality, dream interpretation, and philosophy.
The A.R.E gift shop offers a wide selection of new age products, including books, CDs, DVDs, crystals and gems, wind chimes, Baar Cayce Care remedies, incense, candles, and greeting cards.
