Show Preview: Las Vegas Market Winter Market 2019
{Sponsored} More than 5.4 million square feet await gift buyers at Las Vegas Market this January. New vendors are scattered throughout temporaries and many favorites have expanded their spaces. Explore more:
MELROSE INTERNATIONAL | C932 and C938
Melrose International’s Las Vegas outpost of five years is bigger than ever. They increased space three years ago, and last year, and will again this year. With more than 12,000 square feet of space, “We are totally committed to Las Vegas Market,” said Stan Hultberg, west coast sales manager at Melrose.
The space will feature a new lantern area with every lantern design they carry. “This year we have everything from trending colors and modern motifs to classical Christmas and retro, rustic Christmas; we have something to appeal to every customer,” said Ken Fetgatter, designer.
MER-SEA | C170
Mer-Sea specializes in fragrances and travel-inspired goods. Their latest line “Sea la vie” features stripes reminiscent of the French Riviera, the seaside and umbrellas on the strand. Along with the stripes, their latest candle collection is in enamel pails, like sand pails dotting the beach. They will be releasing a previously exclusive and best-selling candle, diffuser and room spray scent at the show: Coconut Sugar.
“For the buyer, Las Vegas Mart is so inexpensive and easy to get to. It is big but not overwhelming, the key people are there and it has a fun vibe. We felt like this is the place to invest the time and money into because it is growing and it is so easy to connect with people,” said Lina Dickinson, cofounder of Mer-Sea.
SUSTAINABLE DESIGNS IN GIFT TEMPORARIES
CARIBBEAN CRAFT | Handmade art, P1-1005
Headquartered in Haiti, Caribbean Craft features handmade paper sculptures, 3D wall hangings and vases. Founder Magalie Dresse’s dream is to create opportunity for Haitian artisans to have upward mobility and job security.
At her female-run business, they focus on recycled materials and unique designs to create an upscale look featuring animals and geometry, all “adaptable to upscale designs,” Dresse said. We are very excited to be at Las Vegas Market,” she continued.
W&P | Eco-friendly products, P1-4020
The tabletop designs of W&P are made for function, fun and design-forwardness. Their popular to-go container, the Porter Bowl, will be available in a new set of colors, including tan, blue, green and black. “This is our first year at Las Vegas Market. The show has always been on our list, and we finally have a big enough presence to warrant it,” said Cara McCabe. “Our design-forward, aesthetically driven products are nothing like what you’ve had.”
They’ll debut new products in the Porter line that comprise a silicon and glass water bottle, ceramic mug, and portable wine glass in slate, charcoal, cream and blush.
