Cowgirls are cool! At least the ones who shop at Katherine’s Kowgirl Boutique are. Gayle Pitman, the store manager, says most of her customers are women who are looking for top-quality merchandise that is different from what the traditional department store has to offer. This fun, Southwestern style boutique features the latest in women’s Western wear, accessories, jewelry, home decor and gift items. Although the shop carries a large volume of Brighton merchandise, it also stocks other top designer lines like Dorfman Pacific, Jody Coyote and True Blue. The store even has its own line of candles—Katherine’s Kowgirl Kandles—that are 100 percent soy with natural wicks. The shop has several lovely displays, but visitors seem especially drawn to the large stone fireplace. This is where beautiful Southwestern home accents such as pillows, throws, candlesticks, lamps and canvas art are prominently displayed.
