21st Annual Starlight Santa Event

Sutton, MA – On Friday evening November 5, 2010 Vaillancourt Folk Art will introduce the lowest numbers of the 2010 “Starlight Santa”. Judi Vaillancourt will be in the gallery on Friday and Saturday to number and sign the pieces.

Since 1990 Vaillancourt Folk Art Studios of Sutton, Massachusetts has partnered with the Starlight Children’s Foundation in the creation of a limited edition Chalkware “Starlight Santa”. Designed by Judi Vaillancourt, each Santa is cast in a confectionery mould then hand painted using artist’s oils. This special design is only painted for the year of issue, then the style and mould are retired. This long tradition has provided funding for Starlight New England’s programs and services helping seriously ill children and their families face the challenges of chronic illness. The Vaillancourt’s annual donation has brightened the lives of thousands of children through outpatient family activities and inpatient entertainment for hospitalized children.

The Starlight Santa is available for purchase throughout the Holiday Season.

The evening of November 5th will also be the start of the Christmas Season at Vaillancourt Folk Art. The gallery will be lavishly decorated with unique ornaments and decorations.

Vaillancourt Folk Art has been creating highly detailed, hand-painted collectible chalkware from antique moulds in their Sutton, Massachusetts studios since 1984. With a goal of creating that one special gift that will be handed down for generations, Vaillancourt chalkware is an original form of art. Still family owned and operated, Vaillancourt products are available to 500 stores around the nation, including Nordstroms, Neiman Marcus, Williamsburg, Museum of Fine Arts, Boston and hundreds of small shoppes. Their Sutton Studio, Museum, and gallery is open daily, Monday through Saturday 9-5 and Sunday 11-5.
