Disney confirms plans for ‘Frozen 2’By Zeke Jennings

Just when you thought the “Frozen” frenzy was starting to thaw, here comes the news a sequel is officially on its way.

Disney has officially confirmed plans to produce “Frozen 2,” a sequel to the 2013 smash hit that generated $1.27 billion at the box office, not to mention a craze of themed products and costumes.

Actress Kristen Bell, voice of Anna, tweeted a picture of herself with eyes closed and resting her head on a bag of ice with the message “Dreams really do come true!!! #FROZEN2 #itsofficial” on Thursday, March 12.

John Lasseter, Disney’s Chief Creative Officer, confirmed the news via a statement, saying “We enjoyed making ‘Frozen Fever’ so much and being back in that world with those characters. Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck have come up with a great idea for a sequel and you will be hearing a lot more about it and we’re taking you back to Arendelle. We are so excited about that.”

No word yet on when production will start or when the movie will hit theaters, but count on a new wave of merchandise when it does.
