Avon Park, FL – When you enter The Daisy Girl Shop in downtown Avon Park, owner Dennis Mungall greets you, inquiring how you’d like your coffee. “I also have tea and hot chocolate,” he continues, extending a plate of sweets. Dennis doesn’t just offer amazing customer service though; he’s also extremely knowledgeable about every item he sells.

Open 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday, and Saturdays noon to 3 p.m., it’s clear Dennis, and wife Cindy have their customers interests in mind. “We know a lot of people work until 5:00 p.m., so we stay open late.” The Daisy Girl Shop showcases local artists, gifts, décor, vintage books, records and jewelry, signed sports and musical memorabilia, Depression glass, local honey and so much more. This is a place for everyone to shop- male or female. “It’s called The Daisy Girl Shop. My wife, Cindy is the Daisy Girl and I refer to myself as the Dazed Boy,” laughs Dennis. Need a reasonably-priced vintage watch for your man? Dennis has quite a few. Maybe you’d prefer a collection of vintage postcards? How about an Amish basket, antique lantern or blueberry barbecue rub? “We go on buying trips up to Georgia, Tennessee, Michigan and Ohio,” explains Dennis, “We try to find uniques and antiques to bring back with us.”
