West Palm Beach, FL – When Cathy Flagg’s daughters started high school in 1997, the long-time Palm Beacher saw that her stay-at-home-mom days were numbered.

“I’m not a good empty-nester,” said Flagg, explaining the reason for starting Signature Collection, a stationery and gift shop tucked away on the ground floor of the Flagler Center office building in West Palm Beach. Her husband Jack, her father and her brothers also had offices in the complex, making it an obvious choice.

Her decision to enter the stationery business was prompted by a lifelong love for printed matter, and she quietly set up shop in the space off the lobby of 505 S. Flagler Drive. Friends, family members, and organizations she had affiliations with were her first customers. The business grew over the years, thanks to word-of-mouth recommendations.
