Accent on Design Accepts Sixteen New Participants For Winter 2014 Market

Sixteen companies, representing a range of design-oriented product categories, have been accepted into Accent on Design® for the winter 2014 edition of NY NOW™, the Market for Home + Lifestyle (formerly NYIGF®). Accent on Design, a juried collection of 150 contemporary and innovative product suppliers, is one of three sections within the NY NOW’s HOME Collection, which runs Sunday, February 2, through Thursday, February 6, 2014, at New York City’s Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.

“New companies like the 16 that have been accepted by the independent selection committee to join Accent on Design, bring an influx of fresh, new innovative, design-oriented resources to NY NOW,” said Jaime Sikorjak, Accent on Design sales manager. “These newcomers to Accent on Design include products designed and made in the U.S.A., as well as several global sources.”

From the 150 applications received, 16 were accepted as Accent on Design exhibitors: antler & co. (lifestyle accessories); A SUMMER SHOP (Nauti LLC) (lifestyle accessories); Craft Advisory (handcrafted tabletop); Finell Co. (home furnishings); GREY AREA (home furnishings and accessories); Grain (home furnishings and accessories); Haptic Lab (handmade textiles); Industrial Jewellery (handcrafted jewelry); Marmol Radziner Jewelry (handcrafted jewelry); Mirena Kim Ceramics (handcrafted tabletop); ovo.sono.ei (tabletop and accessories); SYMBOL audio (handcrafted audio consoles); Tom Dixon (home furnishings); and Yield Design Co. (home furnishings and accessories).

Two of the winter 2014 accepted applicants to Accent on Design include two current New York Market exhibitors – AC Gears Superlatives (design clocks); and Euroblade (cutlery) – relocating into the section from other NY NOW locations. Additionally,Accent on Design will welcome three companies returning to the market following a hiatus: Caleb Siemon/Siemon&Salazar; Fatboy; and Margo Selby.

Additional highlights of the winter market include the continued participation of two design collectives, JOIN Design Seattle and the American Design Club (AmDC), to showcase emerging and innovative designers. The design incubating A+™: The Young Designers’ Platform at Accent on Design also will return to the winter market introducing the work of emerging designers, selected on the basis of design concept, creativity and originality.

For more than 25 years, Accent on Design has been the industry’s leading source of design-driven gift, home and lifestyle merchandise. Its dynamic, juried collection of contemporary and innovative products is presented semi-annually within the NY NOW HOME collection.

The winter 2014 edition of NY NOW, the Market for Home + Lifestyle, will run Saturday, February 1, through Thursday, February 6, 2014, at New York City’s Jacob K. Javits Convention Center and Pier 94. NY NOW’s four comprehensive collections – HOME, LIFESTYLE, HANDMADE and NEW! – will encompass 100,000 products in 400+ product categories.
