Find kitchenware – and inspiration – at Acorn FarmBy Aileen WingbladHomeTownLife.com

More than a quarter century ago, Kathy Magaluk was the proud owner of a new gift store in downtown Milford, the Village Peddler.

Running the business was rewarding and enjoyable, she said, but after a few years – as her family grew – the store became too much to handle. So shortly before her third child was born, Magaluk called it quits and focused her energy on being a devoted wife and mother.

These days, with three of her four sons in college and her youngest in high school, Magaluk is thrilled to be back on Main Street with her new store, Acorn Farm.

And this time, she’s gone beyond the typical gift shop. Acorn Farm, located in the building which formerly housed the Village Peddler, is all about inspiration, generating ideas and helping people “turn their house into a home,” Magaluk said.

Featuring a variety of kitchenware and home goods – including All-Clad Cookware, Viking Culinary Products, Rosle Utensil and the pottery collections of Skyros and Bolestawiec. It’s also the place to custom order aprons, greeting cards, invitations and stationery. You’ll even find a section of the store filled with products for kids, such as fun and educational games and make-your-own postcards and coupons.

Yet Acorn Farm is about more than a terrific selection of merchandise, Magaluk explains.

“My goal is for this to not just be a place to buy things. I want this to be a gathering place, where people come to get new ideas, to be inspired, to share in the many talents that others in the community offer,” she said.

The store even has its own tag line, “Providing tools to live life well.”
