Ambiente 2013 Already 97 Percent Booked Up

The platform for your success – with six months still to go before the doors open, exhibition space at the world’s most important consumer-goods trade fair is already occupied to 97 percent and, therefore, almost fully booked up. As in 2012, the coming Ambiente from 15 to 19 February 2013 will occupy all of Frankfurt Fair and Exhibition Centre. The Dining section will be located in Halls 1 to 6 and thus fill the whole of the eastern part of the Exhibition Centre while the Giving and Living sections share the western part. With these three sections, Ambiente presents the complete range of consumer goods for the table, kitchen, household and pleasure, as well as giving, living and furnishing. The world’s most important consumer-goods fair is also distinguished by a multitude of events, programmes for young people, trend shows and awards ceremonies.

In the ‘Passage’ segment, the structure will be optimised in 2013 with the addition of a high-quality temporary hall. To be called Hall 12.0, it will make visiting the fair significantly more efficient for ‘Passage Gifts’ visitors and exhibitors. The new exhibition hall will adjoin ‘Portalhaus’, the entrance building in the west of the exhibition centre, and be linked to Hall 10. This will create a clear structure with only short walking distances to the other ‘Passage’ segments at Ambiente.

50th anniversary of the German-French Treaty of Friendship – France the Ambiente Partner Country in 2013 Next February, France will be the Partner Country of Ambiente, the world’s leading consumer-goods fair in Frankfurt, with an extensive programme of events under the motto, “l’art de vivre à la française”.

“We are delighted to welcome France as the Ambiente Partner Country on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the German-French Treaty of Friendship. This underscores the good relationship and long trading relationship between our two countries”, says Detlef Braun, Member of the Executive Board of Messe Frankfurt GmbH. The Partner Country presentation has been made possible by a strategic cooperation between Messe Frankfurt and UBIFRANCE, the French office for international business development. Olivia Putman, one of the leading personalities of the French design scene, has agreed to be ambassador of the ‘Partner Country France’ project and curator of the special Partner Country presentation at the fair.

Contract Business – an efficient platform for equipping and furnishing commercial premises In 2012, Ambiente focused for the first time on the contract business’, i.e., equipping and furnishing commercial premises, such as hotels, cruise liners, congress centres and restaurants, with dishes, glasses, cutlery, lamps, home accessories and seasonal decorations. It is already evident that the ‘Contract Business’ will be bigger and play a more important role at Ambiente 2013 than this year. “This segment of the market has a great potential and is set to play an increasingly important role in the future as a lucrative sales channel”, says Nicolette Naumann, Vice President Ambiente / Tendence. Particularly for equipment and furnishings that have to satisfy a discerning clientele, the contract business is an excellent means of diversification and repositioning with respect to competitors. Ambiente offers an extensive package of benefits for ‘contract-business’ buyers, e.g., interior architects, boat builders and restaurateurs, who are active in the contract business and offer complete furnishing concepts. For example, buyers can use the business-matching platform to find companies offering suitable products and services for the contract business and then use the digital calendar function to make an appointment for a personal meeting at the fair. Additionally, Ambiente offers interesting hotel tours to show examples of complete furnishing concepts. The stands of all exhibitors active in the contract business are marked with a distinctive sign and the companies listed in a special list. For a small break between appointments, the ‘Contract Business Lounge’ is the ideal place to network and relax. Brief, interesting lectures are also held there.

Creative and intelligent solutions in demand: the Talents, Next and Solutions special shows As the international meeting place for the consumer-goods sector, the coming Ambiente will once again be the most important stage for trend presentations and design events. For many young designers, the ‘Talents’ and ‘Next’ promotional programmes are important rungs on the career ladder. Up-and-coming designers from the fields of product, furniture and jewellery have the opportunity to present their works to an international audience of trade buyers at Ambiente. This not only gives them the chance to show their ideas, designs and prototypes to potential manufacturers, and to obtain their reaction in discussions, but also to build up and expand their networks of contact for their professional future. Following the success of this year’s première, the ‘Solutions’ special show will be continued in 2013. Consumers demand intelligent solutions, especially when it comes to cooking, pleasure and dining. New materials, supplementary features and special design highlights are the distinguishing characteristics of tomorrow’s consumer goods. Curated and created by designer Sebastian Bergne, The ‘Solutions’ special show in Hall 4.0 offers an overview of intelligent solutions and genuine technical innovations.
