An Upbeat Fall/Winter 15/16 LA Textile Show at the CMC Featured a Strong, Successful European Presence and Contemporary Brands From Across the Country

The Fall/Winter 15/16 edition of the Los Angeles International Textile Show (LA TEXTILE) took place September 29-October 1, 2014 at the California Market Center (CMC) with an impressive list of notable designers and companies in attendance. Returning this Show were the Lenzing Innovation Pavilion, the European Collections Pavilion, the Korean Pavilion by KOTRA, as well as the Trend Forum in the Main Lobby, curated by trend partner Promostyl.

“Feedback was tremendous,” said Janna Stark, US Consultant for Promostyl. “We had many comments from attendees, first in awe of how beautiful the trend forum looked and also that it was the best they had seen in many seasons. We think that the result was a trend forum that represented Promostyl’s vision for Winter 2015/16 perfectly. We were honestly thrilled with the result.”

Designers were able to seek inspiration and design ideas from the four macro-trends presented by the Paris-based trend forecasting company, Promostyl, including utilitarian-chic “Block;” cozy, sensitive “Tenderness;” sophisticated, sporty-luxe “Details;” and colorful, eccentric “Animism.”

In addition, this edition of the Show saw many noteworthy companies including Just Fab, Gap Inc, Andrew Christian, Aldo, Black Orchid, New Era Cap Co, Nasty Gal, 7 For All Mankind, Twelfth Street by Cynthia Vincent, Joie, Citizens of Humanity, Ella Moss, Perry Ellis, JCPenny, Paper Crown, Kim and Zozi, Pacific Sunwear, Disneyland Resort, Skechers, Bebe, Juicy Couture, BCBG MaxAzria, Latigo, Honey Punch, Sun Kitten Swimwear, Modcloth, Black Halo, American Apparel, and many more.

“Exhibitors were pleased with the abundance of contemporary brands who attended the Show,” said Brittany Carr, Director of Events and Tradeshows at the CMC. “We were happy with the results of the Show, and excited to see solid traffic throughout all three days.”

John Marshall, of JM International Group, was also impressed by the distinct traffic of serious, contemporary brands. “It was a very good Show,” said Marshall. “It was upbeat and we were happy to see serious brands walking the Show floors and placing orders.”

JM International Group exclusively represents European textile companies including Bel Maille, Bella Tela, Bennett Silks, Confetti, Corti Marcello, Darquer, Mahlia Kent, Paultex, Tiss Et Teint, Twelve, Vema, and 496 Fabric Lab. “European mills bring quality, sophisticated, trend setting textiles,” said Marshall. “The contemporary companies and costume designers who attended the Show gravitated toward them. With the addition of Promostyl as the Show’s official Trend Partner, the LA Textile Show had a prominent European influence and I hope to see that expand next year.”

The Spring/Summer 16 edition of the LA Textile Show will take place Monday – Wednesday, March 2-4, 2015 at the California Market Center.
