Ancient Wovens Given A Fresh Spin With A Paintbrush

Wilmington, NC – Artist/Designer Kate McRostie was inspired by the ancient ikat weaving technique when hand painting her new “Ikat Floral” collection which she will launch at Surtex, in New York, and The Licensing Expo in Las Vegas. The new designs available for licensing combine her painted interpretation of ikat fabric in bold colors along with unique florals for a fresh design sure to be a hit with licensees. McRostie will also unveil over 50 additional new designs available for licensing.

Other new McRostie collections include “Treasure Cove”, a fanciful tropical fish design featuring colors of the deep sea, coral, navy and turquoise and “Whistler’s Garden”, a new take on songbirds and vibrant flowers. These new designs may be seen at both Surtex, held in New York City, May 15 – 17th, in Booth 532 and again at The Licensing Expo, Booth 5723, in Las Vegas, June 14 – 16th. McRostie will also be a panelist for Paul Brent’s Branding for Success in Art Licensing seminar, held on June 15th as part of Licensing University at the The Licensing Expo. McRostie is currently seeking licensees in bedding, bath, home furnishings, lighting, kitchen, home décor fabrics as well as gift, stationery and apparel.

Kate McRostie’s artwork is licensed on home and gift products by over forty manufacturers including Creative Co-Op, Evergreen Enterprises, Loloi Rugs, Raz Imports, Sun ‘N’ Sand Accessories, Peking Handicraft, C&F Enterprises, Certified International, and many others.
