Announcement of Dissolution of Liown and Luminara Partnership
Liown is proud to announce that, as of August 5th, 2014, Liown is no longer partnering with Luminara for the manufacture and distribution of Moving Flame candles. Liown has decided to manufacture and distribute Moving Flame candles on its own and/or through its exclusive distribution partners.
Liown is also proud to announce that it has received patent protection for Moving Flame technology in the United States, Europe, and China. Liown is the only company with patent protection on Moving Flame technology in the United States, Europe, and China.
Liown’s patent in the United States was issued by the United States Patent & Trademark Office as Patent No. 8,789,986 on July 29, 2014. Liown’s patents in China were issued by the State Intellectual Property Office as an Inventions Patent No. ZL201010211402.8 on August 1st, 2012 and ZL201010170423.9 on June 25th, 2014, both Inventions Patents were filed on June 28th, 2010. Liown’s patent in Germany was issued by the Deutsches Patent und Markenamt as Patent No. 212011100014.4 on April 2nd, 2012. The patents describe an electronic candle with a flame-shaped sheet movably supported or suspended for movement thereof and a light source installed so as to project light onto the surface of the flame-shaped sheet. The candle includes a mechanism for causing the flame-shaped sheet to move in relatively random patterns to simulate movement of a true-life flame.
