Artefact Home|Garden of Belmont, Massachusetts – greater Boston’s most sublime new design shop – is pleased to be recognized byBoston HOME Magazine as “Best of Boston Home” for 2013 in the category of decorative accessories and “Best of the New 2013 ” by Boston Globe Sunday Magazine, in the category of shopping and services.
Artefact Home|Garden is an artfully curated collection of furniture and lighting, tableware, textiles, garden containers and ornaments and quirky but-oh-so-practical objects. The shop offers exciting lines such as Verellen, Joe Cariati, Airedelsur, Montes Doggett, Pennoyer Newman and Alison Evans Ceramics, works from the ateliers of emerging designers and artisans and a boutique garden and container service. The shop, which welcomes the public and the trade, is housed in a sunny, open 1930’s car showroom.

Boston Home, the sister publication of the esteemed Boston Magazine, consults with local experts and explores the variety of talented designers, craftspeople and home retailers throughout the Boston area, creating a list and honoring a selection of the exceptional individuals with the Best of Boston Home Award. Boston Home noted Maureen and Sue Walsh “have nailed the suburban-with-edge aesthetic better than anyone in the business”.
Best of the New 2012 selects 136 of the year’s top social sources of Boston, including restaurants, shops, people, and ideas. Selecting Artefact as one of the year’s best shops, Globe Magazine states the shop “… .presents a subtle tableau for sophisticated homeowners who eschew the fussy and fancy.”
