Premium Brands, New, Emerging Designers All Under One Roof: Atlanta Apparel

Atlanta, GA —The largest collection of the best apparel and accessory lines unite under one roof for one dynamic buying experience at the March 28-30, 2009 Atlanta Apparel Market. In addition, the Market’s 550 permanent showrooms will open Friday, March 27, for First-View Friday to give retailers a jump on buying. First-View Friday officially launched during the January 2009 Market and will continue this Market and beyond.

More than 8,000 lines strategically placed in signature categories will showcase fashion-forward trends in men’s, women’s, children’s, accessories, bridal and special occasion. Contemporary takes center stage during March, supported by two permanent floors (9 and 11)—with the high-end apparel/accessories in the NY/LA Co-Ops on 9 as the epicenter—and one chic temporary floor of premium contemporary brands in Premiere (2).

The breadth of product is highlighted by select Market events staged in individual categories, including:

  • Contemporary Catwalk: a three-tiered fashion show on floors 2, 9, & 11 featuring the hottest contemporary lines (Sunday, 3 p.m.).
  • Patricia Catan, owner of Catan’s in Stongville, OH—one of the largest bridal & prom retailers in the U.S., will present an exclusive seminar, “Stimulus Package for Bridal Salons in the Coming Year,” for retailers (Sunday, 9 a.m.).
  • Here Comes the Bride: a two-floor event presenting this season’s special occasion lines (Saturday, 3 p.m.). On Floor 9: The Engagement Party and on Floor 10: The Bridesmaid Brunch—both featuring all styles of dresses related to wedding festivities.
  • Pajama Party: spotlighting the sleep, innerwear & loungewear product category on Floors 11 & 12 with select showrooms hosting pajama parties (Saturday, 
10 a.m.).
  • Style Runway Fashion Show & Cocktail party: unveiling trends and exhibitor product in men’s, women’s, special occasion and accessories (Saturday, 6 p.m.).

Additionally, Atlanta Apparel will host several interactive events including The Cosmetics Bar on Floor 7 displaying the hottest beauty techniques with complimentary makeovers; Balloons Galore in AmericasMart’s Children’s World on 13 and 3 featuring a balloon artist; and Shop Late ‘Til Eight on Sunday evening for extended shopping and cocktail parties.

The Atlanta Apparel market is held five times a year and spans 13 floors with 550 permanent showrooms and 1,000 temporary booths showcasing more than 8,000 apparel lines.
