Blue Yonder gift store opens at airport
Owls Head — Air travelers and others in the area can now buy snacks, gifts, ornaments, jewelry and postcards at a new store at Knox County Regional Airport.
Jane Newcomb of Owls Head opened Blue Yonder Coastal Gifts in the airport June 24, and serves as the business’s sole employee.
She has sold items in local craft fairs for years, and said she became interested in the airport location after hearing Airport Manager Jeff Northgraves give a talk about opportunities at the site during a Rotary meeting.
The gift shop offers everything from travel necessities (toothbrushes, aspirin) to souvenir hats and T-shirts. Newcomb said she also sells a lot of jewelry.
