Buyers Market of American Craft Expects First Ever January Show To Be a Big Success

This month marks the Buyers Market of American Craft’s, the nation’s premier wholesale tradeshow for American-made art and handmade crafts, first January Show in Philadelphia before relocating to the nation’s capital in 2015. The 2014 show will take place January 18-21 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center.

For more than 30 years, the Buyers Market of American Craft has showcased the finest handmade products by American and Canadian artisans to qualified retail buyers. Buyers will discover a wide array of products that range from home and garden, jewelry, fashion, gourmet kitchenware, and more. Each aisle offers fresh and unique designs by North American studio artists that draw independent retailers from all over the country—museum gift shops, catalogs, and specialty boutiques, to name a few—all searching for original, handmade works.

In addition to the 200,000 square-foot exhibit halls with thousands of American-made designs to peruse, the show provides workshops and seminars tailored for all types of buyers. Highlights of the show include the ever-popular Jewelry Preview and NICHE Awards. Marketing seminars by SnapRetail will provide buyers with an understanding of how to best utilize social marketing and create successful marketing campaigns.

“It’s been a whirlwind year, preparing to open the show a month earlier than our traditional dates,” said show director Rebecca Mercado. “But we, and our exhibiting artists, are ready to delight buyers this week with what promises to be a beautiful show.”
