Capricorn Boutique – Survivor of The First Class
San Diego, CA – When “besties” Krissy Heinz and Lisa Ovadia opened their boutique, Capricorn, in Bird Rock in 2006, they were denied not one, but two business loans. The two say they were under-capitalized, but not deterred. Little did they know, the worst was yet to come.
“First the construction came, to build what would be beautiful roundabouts, but would also drive traffic anywhere but near our store. And then the economy crashed. Only through blood, sweat, tears, hard work, and barely paying ourselves anything, did we make it through,” says Heinz.
