South Caroline — At the Anderson business Carolina Cuties, it’s all about the bling.

Described as a “children’s boutique and more,” Carolina Cuties opened last week in the Brittany Square Shopping Center at 192 Civic Center Blvd. in Anderson.

Co-owners Rachel Shore and Amber Crisp, both of the Starr-Iva area in Anderson County, created the playful, polka-dotted oasis for little girls and big girls alike to come when in the market for children’s clothing, shoes, accessories and more.

Over one counter, hand-painted letters spelling out the words Bows and Bling draw attention to a variety of hair bows, custom-made cheerleading ribbons and a display case full of safe, nontoxic, child-friendly jewelry from the “Smart Mom” collection.

Carolina Cuties features the L’Amor shoe line for children as well as a selection of Easy Walker strollers. The business also is the exclusive provider of Punkers-N-Pie, a local, custom-made clothing line designed to “grow” with the child.

For those with busy schedules, Carolina Cuties offers a shop by appointment service. At least half of the merchandise available at the business is produced in South Carolina. The name of the business is derived from Dannie Rae Shore, Shore’s 16-month-old daughter, and Gracyn Crisp, Crisp’s 10- month-old daughter.

“They are the original Carolina cuties,” Shore said.

Dannie Rae Shore is named for her uncle, Daniel Jarrard of the Starr-Iva area, who lost his life in an automobile accident in May 2007 and was the inspiration for the business.
