Cash Mob Heading to 104 Street to Encourage Shopping Local in Edmonton
Edmonton, AB – No one likes to shop in a crowd but an event on 104 Street Tuesday night is encouraging folks to ‘mob’ some of Edmonton’s local shops.
Hoards of people are expected to flood the downtown street for what organizers expect will be one of the largest cash mobs events in the country.
“In Canada, we haven’t really seen any [cash mob events] break the 100-person mark and we’re trying to break the 200-person mark,” said Tommy Kalita, CashMobYEG organizer. “It isn’t as much about bragging rights as it is about putting a challenge out to other cities to buy local.”
