Chris Menefee Joins Urban Expositions Sales Team

Urban Expositions announces the appointment of gift and home industry veteran Chris Menefee to the executive sales team for its cash and carry division. In his new role, Menefee will work in tandem with Jim Walker on sales and operations for the company’s West Coast Christmas Cash & Carry Shows in Portland, San Francisco and Seattle, as well as the cash and carry divisions of the San Francisco International Gift Fair, Seattle Gift Show, California Gift Show and Portland Gift & Accessories Show.

The new position marks a return to Urban Expositions for Menefee, who handled sales/project management work for the trade show company from 2003 to 2005.

Menefee comes to Urban from the staffing and recruiting industry where he served as vice president of permanent services/staffing and recruiting for top companies including Execusource. Prior to that position, Menefee was vice president of sales for Chattanooga, TN-based Smart Furniture.

In addition to these posts, Menefee has 25-plus years of experience in the gift and home trade show industries. Before joining Smart Furniture, Menefee worked for Trammell Crow / George Little Management (GLM), focusing on new business development, as well as management and sales of the trade show company’s gift and general merchandise segments. Previously, he worked for Merchandise Mart Properties, Inc. (MMPI), serving as vice president/ leasing of permanent and temporary space for the company’s former High Point, NC property, Market Square. He was also vice president of AmericasMart, overseeing leasing efforts for the company’s permanent gift showrooms.
