Christmasworld – The World of Event Decoration International Frankfurt Fair

Christmasworld 2009 – more exhibitor registrations than this time last year
From 30 January to 3 February 2009, Christmasworld – The World of Event Decoration – will present decorations for every festival and celebration of the year, from Christmas decorations and Easter nests to floral greetings and festive garlands. The national and international decorating sector will gather in Frankfurt for this top event, just in time for the new trading season. Some halls are already fully booked, five months before Christmasworld starts. “With 51,880 m2 now already rented, we already have more registrations than this time last year”, said Jutta Baumann, Christmasworld Director, delighted with this positive interim result.

Tried and tested schedule, new opening days and a new trade fair
In 2009, exhibitors will be presenting their collections over an optimum period of five powerful fair days. Christmasworld is due to open from Friday, 30 January to Tuesday, 3 February 2009, allowing retail traders to take advantage of two consecutive days over the weekend. And this offers international visitors an opportunity to use Christmasworld as an ordering platform on two consecutive days of the week.

Two more fairs, Paperworld, the international trade fair for paper, office supplies and stationery, and Beautyworld, theinternational trade fair for perfumeries, cosmetics, drug stores and hairdressers, will be taking place parallel to Christmasworld but will open one day later (31 January to 3 February 2009). Next year, another powerful sector will be joining the party. Hair and Beauty, Germany’s biggest fair for hairdressers, will be taking place on 1 and 2 February. So, with four events, the Frankfurt Fair and Exhibitions Centre, will be completely full, offering some interesting synergies. Tickets for Christmasworld are valid for all four fairs, so visitors will have a chance to place orders at the other fairs taking place at the same time.

Trend Show to feature themes for 2009/2010
The biggest colour, design and material trends for next year’s festive season, will be on display at the Christmasworld Trend Show in Hall 9.2. Members of the bora.herke style agency design team will be staging the trends in four theme worlds, featuring products from exhibitors, thus providing visitors with the inspiration they need to create decorative trend displays as well as ideas for their collections.

The guest nation will be the USA with Halloween and Valentine’s Day
Every year, the special show “The Spirit of Celebration” features a different country and its traditional festivals. With this, Christmasworld offers an insight into a multitude of different local festivals and customs. 2009 will be creepy yet warm-hearted – the USA will be the guest nation with Halloween and Valentine’s Day. The Galleria will be dressed with traditional decorations and exciting event-related programme highlights planned on two stages. Halloween and Valentine’s Day will also provide the themes for the exhibitor evening on the first day of the fair, which will feature traditional food and customs. These days, the two events are popular in Europe as well, so trade visitors can look forward to new ideas and country-specific decorations.

Special Party and Event Area
In recent years, interest in the party and festive goods sector has continued to grow. At Christmasworld 2008, around 3,000 visitors had a special interest in this segment. Over 83% were extremely satisfied with the choice of products on offer. So, in 2009, Hall 9.0. will feature a special, theme-conform Party und Event area, the focus of which will be on exhibitors with a wide product spectrum for seasonal highlights such as weddings, New Year’s Eve, birthdays, parties and anniversaries. Exhibitor product ranges will cover everything from party plates to balloons, garlands and lanterns, fireworks and elegant table decorations.

Redefined product groups
Christmasworld exhibitors cover the whole of the entire decorating spectrum with their product ranges. To ensure this is reflected to an even greater extent in the orientation of the fair, 2008 will see a redefinition of product groups. The following areas will provide points of reference for trade visitors: annual and seasonal decorations; party and festive goods; fireworks; festive lighting; ribbons and packaging; floral goods; candles and fragrances, shop & display and Christmas decorations.

Exhibitors in Hall 8.0 will be presenting seasonal decorations, florists’ supplies and accessories. The product range will include an extensive selection of artificial and silk flowers; indoor and outdoor ceramics and decorative accessories. In Hall 8.0, shop and display exhibitors will be showing a host of different ways to dress windows and sales floors attractively. The range covers seasonal backdrops which range from giant Christmas trees and Father Christmases to animal animations. Exhibitors in Hall 9.0 will be showing impressive light installations for both buildings and Christmas trees and, here, buyers will also find a wide range of candles in a variety of colours, designs and fragrances. Hall 9.0 will also be the location for festive and party decorations. In Halls 9.1 and 9.2, the emphasis will be on Christmas decorations as well as annual and seasonal decorations. Christmas tree balls will sparkle in a myriad of colours. Angels and Father Christmases and innovative, trend products will abound. In Hall 9.2., exhibitors will be featuring high-quality, handcrafted merchandise. Suppliers of Erzgebirgische Volkskunst® will be presenting traditional products, including nutcrackers, candle arches and Christmas pyramids. As well as Advent accessories, buyers will also find devotional items, from pictures of the Virgin Mary to rosaries and Christian crosses, on this exhibition floor. Hall 9.3 will be of special interest to high-volume buyers, who order in large quantities. Here, exhibitors from Asia will be presenting decorative accessories for all occasions.
