Christopher Guy to Join Las Vegas Design Center in May 2012

Las Vegas Design Center announced a deal today with Christopher Guy to bring the luxury designer furnishings to a year-round showroom in May 2012.

The renowned designer and maker of modern classic designs will open a new, custom-built atrium showroom on the first floor of Building A.

“We are delighted that the Las Vegas Design Center will soon be home to the Christopher Guy brand,” said Randy Wells, vice president of the LVDC. “His glamorous lines blended with traditional design elements create a signature aesthetic that is only Christopher Guy, and we’re excited to welcome such an admired brand to Las Vegas Design Center.”

“My team and I are truly thrilled to be launching a dedicated Christopher Guy showroom at LVDC this coming May,” said Christopher Guy Harrison, chairman and chief executive officer of the Christopher Guy brand. “2012 coincides perfectly with the opening of new corporate U.S. offices and showroom in L.A. Our experience in Las Vegas is that it is a ‘must attend’ to capture the West Coast, Central and South American clientele.”

A true man of the world, Harrison was born in Britain and spent his childhood in Spain and France, now residing between Singapore, London and Los Angeles. His international experiences have influenced his design and differentiate his artistic sensibilities. In 1993, he got his start making beautiful mirror designs and, in recent years, he has greatly expanded his work to include a comprehensive lifestyle collection, leading to the 2006 founding of the Christopher Guy brand. A signature design element of the brand includes the patented Chris-X leg design and its motto remains “A Contemporary Mood with Classic Values.”

Christopher Guy collections can be seen in the world’s finest residences and resorts like The Dorchester and The Savoy in London, The Bellagio and Wynn resorts in Las Vegas, and in Ritz-Carlton and Four Season properties worldwide, as well as in films such as 007 Casino Royale, The Thomas Crown Affair, Ocean’s Thirteen and The Devil Wears Prada, among others.

Harrison was recognized with the Design Icon Award during the Winter 2011 Las Vegas Market for excellence in design. The Design Icon Award celebrates modern-day design legends and gives them a platform to share their stories and inspire others. He joined the ranks of past Design Icon honorees, including Juan Montoya, Vicente Wolf, Roger Thomas, Vladimir Kagan and Larry Laslo.

“We look forward to continue the success of Christopher Guy,” Harrison added. “Which, with the opening of its second facility in Java, now employs almost two-thousand craftsmen.”
