Greenville, DE – The much-touted Small Business Saturday proved a boon for several of Delaware’s independent shops as customers seeking distinctive gifts without the mall drama went the “buy local” route.

“People will forgo the sale to have a better shopping experience,” said Kara Hebert, owner of Two Sisters ‘tween and teen boutique in Greenville.

This was Hebert’s first Thanksgiving shopping rush since the boutique opened in March. Instead of slashing prices storewide, she offered a raffle for a $100 shopping spree and encouraged younger shoppers to create wish lists – something akin to a wedding registry for girls still in braces.
