Emerald Expositions appoints Sally Shankland as new president and CEO

Emerald Expositions Events, Inc. has appointed Sally Shankland as the president and CEO of Emerald. Shankland will assume her new role on June 1, 2019 and will remain a member of the Company’s Board of Directors. Phil Evans, Emerald’s interim president and CEO, will continue to serve as its CFO.

The Board and I have been particularly impressed by her success in driving growth and capturing new opportunities by harnessing data, technology, and a strong and persistent focus on customer satisfaction.”

Shankland brings over 35 years of experience including a tenure of more than 20 years with UBM, now part of Informa PLC, a UK-based multinational events, academic publishing and business intelligence business.

“I recently joined the Emerald Board as a non-executive director and quickly realized that I could apply my leadership principles, experience and skills to improve the company’s financial performance and growth prospects. I’m very excited about the opportunity to lead the business,” said Shankland.
