February Denver Gift Show: Upbeat & Busy

Denver, CO — Buyers turned out for the February 2009 Denver Merchandise Mart Gift, Home, Jewelry & Resort Show in numbers nearly matching last February’s. “More importantly, many exhibitors commented that they had a great show with lots of orders placed,” said Carol Hash, Gift Show Director, “and permanent tenants, temporary exhibitors and buyers alike, talked about the positive energy at the show.” Some comments from our show participants:

“You’ve really pulled something off here. This has been a good show for us, especially given the (economic) environment. There’s a nice flow, the buyers are here, and the booths are filled.” – (temporary exhibitor) Jim Denardo, Adventure Marketing, Lansing, MI.

“Great show, as many of the vendors we worked with were new finds with great products. Denver is a great, easy show to work. – (buyer) Mike Strickland, Cabin Company Furnishings, Waynesville, NC.

“We’ve had tons of traffic, and I’ve had a great show. Buyers in my showroom who hadn’t been to Denver for a while were excited about the look and feel, and the cool lines they’re finding here.” (permanent tenant) Tania Petrulis, Elements, Longmont, CO.

“I haven’t heard a single negative from anyone. Buyers and exhibitors are happy. This has been an excellent show.” – (buyer) Gene Stringari, Yellowstone Gift Shop, Cody, WY.

“The buyers are telling us this show is upbeat. We’ve seen more buyers from outlying states. Overall we’ve had a good show.” – (permanent tenant) Chuck Baglo, PM Enterprises, Denver, CO.

“One of our manufacturers indicated that the Denver Show was the only winter show in which the orders equaled figures from a year ago. At other winter shows in 2009, sales were only about 50% of the previous year’s winter show. Great Show!” – (permanent tenant) Barbara Jordan, Barbara Jordan & Associates, Denver, CO.

The Denver Merchandise Mart Gift, Home, Jewelry & Resort Show is one of the premier regional shows in the country. The recent February Show attracted buyers from 46 states with the majority of attendance from the Rocky Mountain and Western regions of the United States. The show features over 500 permanent and temporary exhibitors representing over 5000 lines. In addition to the wide variety of offerings in gift, home, jewelry and resort categories, it also showcases one of the largest selections of Native American, rustic, lodge-style and western products in the country. The next Show is August 13—18, 2009; and will combine with the Denver Apparel & Accessory Market, August 14—17. For more information visit www.denvermart.com or call 800-289-6278.
