From Romanian Orphanage to Ocean Grove Flower Shop
Ocean Grove, NJ – Let’s set the stage for this story this way:
It was 2002 and Jay Sullivan visited an orphanage near Bucharest, Romania, to make a documentary. Maybe it was the energy of the kids there or the dreary post-Cold War country or his inherent desire to make a difference, but he decided he would stay in touch with the 12 children there.
Twelve years later, one of the children, Ilinca Dumitriade, is 25. She has moved here with her husband, Marius, and a Maltese named Jazz. They bought the Ocean Grove Flower & Gift Shop on Main Avenue. And Jay Sullivan helped to make it happen.
