AU – NANAS are not the only ones knitting, according to Lismore yarn provedore Elissa Biermann.

The 29-year-old mother of two has just opened Lismore’s first dedicated hand-arts store, Evoke Designer Yarn and Fabric.

She said her customers were best described as ‘funky.’

“They are into design and unique creations,” Ms Biermann said.

“They like things that are very individual and very colourful.”

Ms Biermann said only about 10 per cent of the people who had walked through the store’s door so far were ‘nanas’.
