Gamewright’s Newest Games Garner Over 30 Top Awards

Gamewright, a leading family game manufacturer based in Newton, Massachusetts, is wrapping up the year on a high note. The manufacturer recently earned 39 awards for all eight of its 2011 introductions. Highest honors include Oppenheim Toy Portfolio Platinum Seals for City Square Off and GUBS, Dr. Toy’s Top 100 Children’s Products for Mermaid Beach, and Parents’ Choice Gold awards for City Square Off and FlipOut. This is the second year in a row that two Gamewright games have won Parents’ Choice Gold awards.

FlipOut, a colorful card game of switching, swapping and swiping, is Gamewright’s top winner for 2011 with a total of eight awards for the year. In addition to the coveted Parents’ Choice Gold award, it also won an Oppenheim Toy Portfolio Gold award and was chosen as one of Dr. Toy’s Best Vacation Products.

Mermaid Beach, a whimsical beach-themed card game invented by 8-year-old Emily Ehlers, was also recognized by Parents’ Choice with a Fun Stuff award, and by Tillywig Toy Award with a Best Family Fun honor. City Square Off, a head-to-head city planning game, received National Parenting Publications(NAPPA) Honors and a Tillywig Top Fun award. It was also chosen as one of Dr. Toy’s Best Vacation Products.

The National Parenting Center, which was founded in July of 1989 with the intention of providing the most comprehensive and responsible parenting advice, chose six of Gamewright’s latest offerings to feature its Seal of Approval. Splish Splash, Mermaid Beach, City Square Off, FlipOut, GUBS, and Joe Name It were chosen for this honor.
