Woodstock, ON – One little girl said she wanted to buy a present for her mom and dad because they work so hard.

A little boy wanted to get his grandpa something to do with golf because he really likes the sport.

Another little girl was going to get her mom a cookbook because she can’t cook so well.

No matter who they were buying for, students were learning how to give back at the first Holiday Gift Shop at Central Public School on Friday.

The kids have been really thoughtful in selecting who they want to buy for,” said Tracey VanWilligen, a member of the school council. They have shown a great deal of pride being able to buy a present.”

A member of the school council came up with the concept of a gift shop, which has students do a good deed to earn a ticket to the store.
