Great Falls Airport Changes Gift Shop Selection
Great Falls is often the destination for travelers looking to experience the great outdoors. Now, the airport is trying to help tourists looking for all that Montana has to offer.
The gift shop at the airport used to be pretty typical, books, candy all the same things you would expect at any gift shop in any airport. Now, it will sell a variety of items specifically suited to tourists looking to experience Montana.
Gift shops are basically a necessity in airports. “When you travel, you have to bring gifts back to your family,” traveler George Kipp says.
The Great Falls airport brought in outdoor guides, maps and university apparel to appeal to the tourists. “I think it’s really nice, nice selection and nice quality of products,” Carol Young who is picking up a family member at the airport says.
“This is my first time here; it had exactly what I needed, so I’m happy. I couldn’t go back home without some blackberry cordials. I would not have been welcome home without them,” visitor from San Diego Jim House says.
For outdoor enthusiasts the gift shop may be the first chance they can get information about where to go. “Guides yes, I would not expect to see a fly rod in an airport,” House says.
“I see a little fishing for the guys, I’m sure they like that sort of thing. If they come into the gift shop,” Young adds.
As part of the revamped gift shop, officials rearranged the set up to help draw in customers. “It’s very inviting, I marched right in,” Young says.
