Fiesta available at Harry and David
NEWELL, WV — The Homer Laughlin China Company has partnered with e-commerce, retail and wholesale company, Harry & David; the gourmet food and fruit gifts purveyor will offer select FIESTA Dinnerware items in its retail stores, numbering 144 in the U.S.
“This is the perfect marriage of American brands,” says Rich Brinkman, The Homer Laughlin China Company. Sharing same synergies, both Homer Laughlin and Harry & David are U.S based manufacturers and celebrating 75 year milestones.
“FIESTA is the perfect palette for our gourmet food business,” says Alisa Peterson, Harry & David. “We’ve selected specialty styles that marry well with our signature products.” Risottos and pastas, for example, are paired with the FIESTA Covered Casserole, Ramekins and Small Oval Platters, while assorted Harry & David appetizers and crackers are presented with Bread Trays and Ramekins.
“Harry & David is known for its unique gift ideas,” says Peterson. “We’ll use FIESTA products as an alternative to baskets to build upon our custom gift options.”
FIESTA table displays at Harry & David stores showcase the traditional Mug and Jumbo Mug, Bowls (in various sizes), Oval Platter (several sizes), Ramekin, Bread Tray, Salad Plates, Spoon Rest, Covered Butter Dish, Disc Pitcher, Oval Covered Casserole and Baker, Sauceboat, Salt & Pepper, Deep Dish Pie Baker, Trivet, Pedestal Bowl, and Sugar & Cream Set.
All items are available in Scarlet, Evergreen and Sunflower colors; the flagship store in Medford, Oregon, will offer the additional hues: Ivory and Cobalt.
“It looks like the product was made for the store,” says Brinkman—a perfect backdrop for the initial selected color introduction. Customer reaction and initial sales have exceeded expectations by both Homer Laughlin and Harry & David management teams.
A coffee statement – a combination of FIESTA’s Ivory and Black – is being planned for spring.
The partnership with Harry & David offers great opportunity to the long-time dinnerware brand. “We’re able to reach a new consumer group,” says Brinkman pointing to the business-to-business customer. Homer Laughlin has traditionally sold through its established department store and specialty retail channels capturing a solid consumer base, but doing so, left the “corporate” and specialty gifting market untapped—until now.
