Poor forgotten Thanksgiving Day. Once Halloween ghosts disappear, vampires lie to rest and zombies go back into hiding, the Christmas holiday shopping season begins with a vengeance.

For many households, November is the start of planning and purchasing in preparation for Christmas Day.

In the final quarter of each year, sales will rise, and business owners will see a bit more in their bank account as the holiday months will bring additional revenue.

“I will do five times as much during the holiday season as a regular month,” said Mia Oglesby, owner of Gifts By Mia, a specialty gift shop in northern Davidson County.
