Chico, CA – Poni Mosier is the first to say Grace Jr.’s 50th anniversary is a tribute to her parents, the late Grace and Arvel Allread of Chico.

“It’s a real milestone. In this day and age, it’s a real accomplishment to survive 50 years,” she said in talking about the five decades that were the backbone of her parents, brothers and sisters’ lives.

In summing up the gift store’s anniversary, Mosier — now owner — acknowledges her mother’s sense of adventure, especially her parents’ years in the circus world. That’s why mailers sent out all over the country have a snapshot of Grace Jr., admiring Suzi the elephant standing on a small table nearby.
