Jumping Jack Press scores Silver Moonbeam award
(CHICAGO) – Jumping Jack Press, the pop-up book imprint from Up With Paper, was honored with the Silver Moonbeam Award for the Best Pop-Up or Cut-Out Book published in 2008 for its Splish Splash, Dog Bash title.
The company’s first everyday title, Splish Splash, Dog Bash, authored by Anne and George White, illustrated by Jason O’Malley, and engineered by Bruce Foster, features a neighborhood of mischievous dogs at their annual pool party on the first day of school. The dogs plan, purchase swimwear for, and then attend a pool party in the eight-spread book filled with fun, fantastical art from O’Malley and incredible engineering and pop-ups from Foster.
The juried Moonbeam Awards honor the year’s best children’s books, authors, and illustrators. A total of 1,085 book entries were submitted by authors and publishers from the U.S. and around the world for this year’s contest. The Moonbeam Children’s Book Awards are designed to bring increased recognition to exemplary children’s books and their creators, and to support childhood literacy and life-long reading.
