West Milford, NJ – You may have passed this little shop many times but thought a “country” store is not my style. But owner Marlene Wynne begs to differ, explaining that “country” refers to the store’s location in the rural-like town of West Milford, not necessarily the only style of merchandise she carries in her gift and home décor shop.

“I do have some Americana and Primitive items, but there is so much more to the store,” she said.

Wynne, 60, is a resident of Stockholm. Married to James Wynne, the couple has three adult sons, James, Jason and Justin. Besides Wynne’s flair for selecting eclectic merchandise, her creative floral arranging skills and eye for home decor, other family members also have artistic inclinations. Her husband is a published author and Jason has designed the cover for his father’s latest historical novel. Jason also provides reasonably priced original art work to the store’s shelves called “Civilized Animals” prints of animals dressed as a chef, an aviator, or a bride and groom, for instance.
