Museum Discoveries buying tour headlines January 2017 Seattle Gift Show seminar lineup

The Jan. 6 – 9, 2017 Seattle Gift Show will offer buyers an expanded product selection as well as a number of free educational programs designed to help with strategies and solutions to grow their business and boost their bottom line. Ranging from merchandising and customer service to packaging and product story-telling – the sessions will give retailers proven tips they can immediately put into place at their stores. Sessions are open to all registered buyers and will take place on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at the Washington State Convention Center.
 
What’s more, the Seattle Gift Show has developed a special “Museum Discoveries” curated show floor tour program that will also be part of the educational line-up. Open to all attending buyers, the program was developed and added to the show’s seminar schedule to further expand the educational opportunities for members of the Pacific Northwest Chapter of the Museum Store Association (MSA), which will hold its membership meeting on show site during the January edition.

Retail is Entertainment: Enchanting the Customer Shopping Experience and Your Bottom Line
11 a.m. – noon
Speaker: Karl Busche, Retail Consultant and Author

Retail is Entertainment. From merchandising to product bundling to customer service, this fast-paced seminar will provide tips, tricks and methods to keep your customers coming back.  Karl’s method works for any size retailer by utilizing the key strategies of the “exit through the gift shop” and television shopping retailers. Calling upon his  buying experience with more than  100 unique retail locations across the US, Karl will show you how to create a merchandise-based narrative with your product mix that draws your customer’s attention, keeps them engaged and ultimately increases your store sales!  Each attendee will be provided a link to receive a free copy of Karl’s eBook,  Mashup Merchandising: Retail Strategies , to become memorable before you become just a memory.

With years of proven industry experience, including GMM with Event Network, perhaps best described as the “exit through the gift shop” retailer with 100-plus locations worldwide, Karl will kick off the program with a brief introduction followed by a curated tour highlighting a number of “museum discoveries” on the show floor.  During the tour Karl will highlight some of the best products to create stories within your museum or specialty shop in order to maximize sales and support your organization’s mission.

Speaker: Mike Walker, Vice President of Sales, American Retail Supply

During this session, Mike  will guide you on how to take your branding to the next level! He  will provide you with real-world examples of effective branding campaigns as well as step-by-step instructions on how to plan, process, and implement an effective custom packaging campaign. You don’t want to miss this hands-on session.
