Nambé Celebrates 60 Years of Exceptional, Museum-Quality Design

Santa Fe, NM. – Nambé, the renowned, award-winning design company, is about to celebrate its 60th Anniversary of providing the discerning consumer with contemporary yet, enduring artistry for the table.

“We are very proud to reach this important milestone,” states Robert Varakian, President and CEO of Nambè. “In 1951, during Modernism’s mid-century design revolution, our first products were handcrafted in a village called Nambè, located north of Santa Fe. There, the seeds were planted for our continuing passion for exceptional design that combines timeless beauty with everyday functionality.”

A metallurgist working with the Los Alamos Laboratories, Martin Eden, had developed the signature Nambè Alloy and then worked with Pauline and Peter Cable to bring forth the initial museum-quality collections.

Thirty years later, in 1981, when the current ownership, the Hillenbrand family, came on board, the brand bloomed and expanded to become the company that Nambè is today – one of the most acclaimed design leaders in the tabletop and home décor categories.

Building on these rich and successful past sixty years, Nambè looks ahead to an exciting future as the company capitalizes on a growing roster of distinguished designers, an outstanding list of national and international museum placements and an enviable accolade of design awards.

“Today every piece we craft must have an undeniable beauty, artistic integrity, uncompromising quality and function beyond compare.” adds Dan Hillenbrand, Chairman of the Board of Nambè. “We enhance lives through designs that emotionally connect, superiority that inspires and a brand that shares in the lifestyle aspirations of our customers – all with the intent to honor our core values and remain true to our philosophy.”

About Nambé

In 1999, Nambé added full-lead, mouth-blown crystal to its collection. In 2007, Nambé launched its first collections of flatware and dinnerware products.
