Prominent Brands Return to National Stationery Show
White Plains, NY – The bold new look, high energy and rebounding participation that defined the 2007 National Stationery Show continues to generate buzz, drawing several prestigious companies back to the market after an absence. Colorbok, Mrs. Grossman’s Paper Company, Roger La Borde, The Flavia Company and Two’s Company, among others, have confirmed their participation, setting the stage for a robust 2008 market, May 18-21, at New York City’s Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.
“The success of the 2007 National Stationery Show, combined with the robust product innovations from an industry threatened by the Internet age, will propel this market to new heights in 2008,” said Patti Stracher, show manager. “The industry is thriving as our culture embraces the act of putting pen to paper to communicate in the most personal way. Prominent brands that shared center stage at this Show are back, demonstrating the resurgence of the industry and importance of this market.”
Colorbok will showcase its new lines of scrapbooking embellishments, photo albums, childrens’ craft supplies and everyday stationery at the National Stationery Show after a four-year gap. Established more than 25 years ago, Colorbok has become a leading brand within the stationery industry, first achieving success with its Alpha Notes invention. Known for great design and innovation, today the company has a wide range of giftable and classic stationery products.
“We’re very pleased to return to the National Stationery Show this year,” said Barbara Berwick, vice president and general manager of Colorbok Gift & Stationery. “The overall greeting card and stationery market is growing quickly again. This Show has always been the premier exhibition for the stationery market in the United States, and a great opportunity to meet with many of our existing customers as well as new. We expect it to be an excellent order writing show for many of our smaller accounts.
“The Flavia Company returns to showcase its distinctive visual style and words of inspiration that appeal to a diverse audience. Since 1997, the Flavia brand has been widely acknowledged as a leader in the social expressions market, with demand crossing all market channels. Flavia will present wall decor, assorted accessories, calendars, greeting cards and journals at the Show.
Returning after a four-year absence, Two’s Company will showcase its Mindy Weiss Bridal Collection, a line of lifestyle products for brides and grooms, newlywed couples, wedding guests and bridal parties. Mindy Weiss is one of the most sought after event planners and lifestyle experts in the United States. She is the style expert for Weddingchannel.com and is a frequent contributor to InStyle, InStyle Weddings and Los Angeles Magazine Weddings. She has been featured in magazines including Brides, Elegant Bride, Martha Stewart, Modern Bride, O Magazine, People and Real Simple.
Mrs. Grossman’s Paper Company will reinforce its long-standing reputation as “America’s favorite sticker company” when it returns this year. The company offers hundreds of stickers for crafts, scrapbooking and more, as well as photo albums, paper and cards. Celebrating the company’s return to the market is “A Conversation with Mrs. Grossman” from 8:30 – 9:00 am on Monday, May 19, 2008. Scrapbook Retailer Executive Editor Beth Mauro will sit down with Andrea Grossman, president, to discuss the success and evolution of the company. Tickets are $35 in advance and $40 onsite, which includes the “Understanding the Scrapbooker” seminar immediately following the program. Registration will be available online, at nationalstationeryshow.com, beginning in February.
Also returning to the market is London-based Roger La Borde. The company will showcase its sophisticated, bold and whimsical designs on greeting cards, stationery, gift wrap and desk accessories.
The 62nd annual National Stationery Show will be held Sunday, May 18, through Wednesday, May 21, 2008, at New York City’s Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. The Show will feature 1,400 exhibitors and attract some 15,000 attendees.
