NeoCon East resounding success at Baltimore Convention Center

(BALTIMORE, MD) – Nearly 8,000 attendees and more than 300 exhibitors made the sixth annual NeoCon East, which ran Oct. 29-30, 2008 at the Baltimore Convention Center, the largest in the show’s history.

“Attendance and exhibitor participation were very strong, showing the strength of NeoCon East as a premier government and commercially-focused trade show,” said Mark Falanga, senior vice-president of Merchandise Mart Properties, Inc.

The number of NeoCon East exhibitors grew seven percent from 2007, and exhibit space grew by nearly 4,000-square-feet, making the show more than 240,000-square-feet. Show attendance was steady from 2007, with nearly 8,000 industry-professionals during the two day show, and included three main show components: Buildings Show, GREENlife: Products for Sustainable Environments and Architectural Stone and Ceramic Tile Exposition.

NeoCon East offered 48 CEU-accredited programs, more than ever before, and seminar attendance was up 17 percent from 2007. This year’s keynote speakers, Iris Amdur and Stephen Apking, focused on Green building and sustainability issues in the design and built environments, a major focus in the current industry.

“There’s such a great turnout at NeoCon East this year!” said Wayne Mahan of Burtco Enterprises. “Attendance is great! The attendance is very solid and the attendee base is very interested in the new product offerings, so it’s a great outlook for 2009. It’s the continual awareness of changes in products and services—that’s why we as manufacturers keep coming to the show.”

“NeoCon East keeps on getting better, the momentum keeps building. MMPI has done a great job of growing the show. I keep hearing about more and more people who make NeoCon East their destination rather than another show,” said Joseph Briggs of RCG Architects.

NeoCon East is the premier exposition in the Mid-Atlantic region for the design and management of the built environment. The show features two exciting days of new products, special events, educational offerings and guest speakers for industry professionals.

NeoCon East 2009 will return October. 28-29, 2009 to the Baltimore Convention Center. For more information visit www.neoconeast.com or call (800) 677-6278 (MART).
