New Shop Offers Haute Couture for Girls
Los Altos, CA – Cecilia Chen opened The Girls @ Los Altos as a tribute to the party dress. Whether it’s for a birthday party, a role as flower girl or a concert performance, Bay Area girls like her daughter like to dress up – and Chen saw a lack of comfortable places for young girls to try on fancy clothing in a cozy setting.
Chen built a “kids’ corner” in her shop at 239 State St. with sofas, bookshelves and toys for young people to kick back and relax. A big wooden toy house set up as a playspace sits along one wall.
The shop carries primarily the Nellystella and Tutu Du Monde clothing lines. Feathers, silks, netting and sequins adorn the walls.
