New antique store in Amesbury
Amesbury, MA – Since she was a little girl, Kristen Jarosz has been a collector, briar horses being her first passion. But now, at age 27, she’s not only collecting items but selling them as well. For last month, the West Newbury resident opened a new antique store, White Dog Antiques and Gifts, on Friend Street in downtown Amesbury.
The white dog, in this case, is her 2-year-old Maltese, Dublin, the store’s official mascot and quiet spokes-dog.
“This is the kind of store I’ve always dreamed of coming into,” Jarosz said.
The store features antiques and collectables spanning hundreds of years. From a marble top table dating back to the 1800s, to vintage Agatha Christie books, Jarosz’s store features an eclectic array of items. She even has some modern items, including a new book penned by Paul McCartney.
And that was the idea, she said, hoping that those who visit her store find gifts or collectables that they can’t find elsewhere.
“I’m really passionate about these things,” Jarosz said. “They’re beautiful and I’d like to see them in good hands.”
