New Bellevue Store Sets The Standard In Accessible, Posh Home Design
Think a new home design store in downtown Bellevue is out of your league? Think again. Design junkies will find posh, yet accessible décor and inspiration at The Standard, a friendly, chic home furnishings store that combines high style with affordable, functional and kid-friendly design.
Owner and designer Jennifer Colley opened The Standard nine months ago, as a northern counterpart to her eight-year-old Tacoma store, Posh Home. The Standard and Posh Home reflect Colley’s eclectic design point-of-view, which can be described as a touch of glam, a smidge of retro, a bit of industrial and sprinkling of leather and wood, all of which come together in a cohesive, unique and interesting way.
“I strive for a more layered and personalized style, compared to what customers will find at other, larger stores,” Colley explains. “We focus on lines that are made in the U.S., are environmentally friendly and whose price point is accessible to a broader audience,” she says, gesturing to the majestic sofa on which she sits.
