New ‘Bulk Food, Gift Store’ Opens DoorsBy Katie SchwendemanReviewOnline.com

In 1997, Larry Rudibaugh and his family opened a feed store on state Route 45. The building stood on a two-acre lot and offered animal feed, lawn and garden, and pet supplies.

Through the years, the family made connections with individuals who would later help the business by offering a variety of additional products.

Naturally, the store needed more space, so Rudibaugh purchased the 16-acre farm he grew up on. The farm is located at 1665 Shadyside Ave.

The store began operating out of the new location in November 2010. Rudibaugh and his family live in the farmhouse located only yards from the store that features a porch made of pure cedar wood. The porch was built by local Amish, he said.

Inside the store a tall, round countertop is also made of the wood. Rudibaugh is proud of the naturally made features, and makes a point to give credit to the carpenters.
