New gift shop set to open before DecemberBy Kyle MarksteinerCurrentArgus.com

Carlsbad — There’s a leap of faith required when opening any new business, so Pam and Terry Seal feel the name of their new shop is especially appropriate.

Divine Cottage, a shop offering a number of unique gifts, will open the day after Thanksgiving in time for an expected holiday crowd.

“My husband and I decided on the name because of our faith,” said Pam Seal. “We’re putting our faith 100 percent into God.”

The store is located at 1314 S. Canal St., across from La Tienda. Office hours will be 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Saturday. The shop can be reached at 234-2275.

The Seals and their employees were hard at work Thursday preparing for their opening. A friend of Pam’s, Jean Tupper, will also have items for sale at the store.

“We’ve always wanted to open a business and we decided to put our foot out there and do it,” Pam Seal said. “My husband calls me a professional shopper. So I have lots of experience.”
