NY NOW LIFESTYLE Collection to Showcase 1.100 Suppliers
NY NOW LIFESTYLE – one of four new product collections to debut at the summer edition of NY NOW®, the Market for Home & Lifestyle (formerly NYIGF®) – will showcase some 1,100 suppliers representing a wide range of resources on Level 1 of New York City’s Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. This new concentration of lifestyle resources will showcase product categories including gifts, juvenile products, personal accessories and personal care and wellness.
“Lifestyle resources, which previously were presented in multiple locations throughout the Javits Center, now will be presented more cohesively,” said Christian Falkenberg, NY NOW director and GLM senior vice president. “To make the shopping experience even more efficient for buyers, products also will be grouped into four broad sections, as well as several strategically themed ‘neighborhoods’.”
Four sections of merchandise will be presented within NY NOW LIFESTYLE: Baby + Child; Gift; Personal Accessories; andPersonal Care + Wellness. The LIFESTYLE Collection will expand beyond the Javits Center’s Level One with several sophisticated and style-focused lifestyle brands, such as Lollia, Love & Toast and Tokyo Milk, exhibiting in the Javits Center’s Crystal Palace Lobby.
Baby + Child is a juried section of well-designed and sophisticated product ranges for children from 0-10 years. Notable Baby + Child participants include: Elegant Baby; Jellycat; Little Giraffe; Little Twig; Uncle Goose®; and others.
The Gift section encompasses an extensive array of stationery and publishing, trend merchandise, pet products, collectibles, premiums, souvenirs and novelties and more. Within Gift, three product “neighborhoods” – On Trend, Museum Source andStationery & Publishing – will be distinctly defined on the exhibit floor. Notable Gift participants include: Jax and Bones; Mystic Seaport; Noon Designs; OOTS!: PAPYRUS-RECYCLED GREETINGS; and more.
Personal Accessories offers current styles in fine and fashion jewelry, leathergoods, wearables and more. Notable Personal Accessories participants include: Graf & Lantz; Meghan Patrice Riley; Rowallan of Scotland™; Würkin Stiffs®; and others.
Personal Care + Wellness is a resource for natural/organic products and well-being lines, as well as cosmetics, beauty accessories, fine fragrance, skin & hair care, and bath & body accessories. Notable Personal Care + Wellness participants include: Archipelago Botanicals; Butter London; Farmhouse Fresh; Royal Apothic; and more.
During market week, several NY NOW seminars will be targeted to lifestyle product retailers. Highlights include “Visual Merchandising for Lifestyle Products” presented by the Day Spa Association; and “Design Destinations – Where Fashion, Home & Lifestyle Design Is Going Next,” presented by Fashion Group International.
Superlative product design and innovation among NY NOW LIFESTYLE exhibitors will be recognized with “Best New Product Awards” in the categories of Baby + Child and Personal Care + Wellness. A panel of trade and consumer editors will identify top product in a variety of categories, after which online balloting through RedClayDesign.com will determine a “People’s Choice” winners in each category.
Lifestyle products from NY NOW suppliers will be incorporated into special displays on-site, including a new “Made in USA” display of both handmade and factory-produced American-made products, the SustainAbility: design for a better world display of eco-friendly and socially-responsible products; and the “Open House” trend display curated by One Kings Lane and sponsored by Sandow Media.
NY NOW, the Market for Home & Lifestyle, will run Saturday, August 17, through Wednesday, August 21, 2013, at New York City’s Jacob K. Javits Convention Center and Passenger Ship Terminal Pier 94. NY NOW’s four comprehensive collections – HOME, LIFESTYLE, HANDMADE and NEW! – will encompass 100,000 products in 400+ product categories.
