Owl Book & Gift Shop hosts local author
Owl Book & Gift Shop welcomed Sheree Fitch to town, providing the well-known author an opportunity to promote not just her children’s books, but a new adult fiction novel entitled Kiss the Joy as it Flies.
Owl co-owner Paula Morris organized the entire day and made arrangements for Queen Street to be closed down for the event.
After introductions by fellow co-owner John Carmont, Mayor Art Slipp welcomed Fitch while holding a copy of her children’s book Toes in my Nose. Slipp used to read the book to his now-30-something son when he was little.
Slipp and Fitch are old friends from way back when they used to be neighbours in Fredericton.
Things got off to a fun start with a children’s parachute game put on by Joy Hanson of School District 14. Once that was over, Fitch recited some tongue-twisting ditties with help from the kids. The author also read from two of her newest children’s books – Kisses Kisses Baby-O and Peak-A-Little Boo.
