Santa Fe, NM – Like most charities, Palliative Care Services of Santa Fe needed money to provide its free services, but its approach to getting those resources set it apart from any other charity.

Whereas some groups may open consignment or thrift stores, the group gambled on something more upscale, a boutique named Paladino, located in the heart of downtown Santa Fe.

Marcy Grace, executive director of Palliative Care Services, stacked the odds in her favor with a team of experienced retailers, a crew of volunteer employees and a sense of satisfaction that comes from supporting a cause, which she said helps to overcome the 50 percent success rate most retail stores face.
