Peek-A-Boo Bag makes a game of idle time for little ones

Draper, UT – Imagine you’re at the airport and they’ve delayed your flight for three hours. No big deal. You go to the gift shop and pick up a few choice magazines. Now imagine your flight’s been delayed but your 3-year old toddler is with you. What’s the kiddo going to do while you leaf through the latest copy of “Oprah?” Run around? Screech, “Mommy, mommy, mommy” for three hours? Or sit still and be quietly mesmerized by their Peek-A-Boo Bag, the newest, most innovative toddler toy to find its way into the market in years?

Children love finding things. The success of “Where’s Waldo,” “I Spy” and “Hidden Pictures” in Highlight Magazine are proof of that. The Peek-A-Boo Bag takes that concept to the next level. “We wanted to make a product that would provide the peace and quiet all mothers crave,” say inventors Marcella Shumway and Teresa Hammond. But in addition to keeping their children entertained anywhere they needed to wait quietly, this pair of inventive young mothers also wanted the product to be educational and fun.

Peek-A-Boo Bag contains all of these elements. Because of its unique and durable design, kids can shake, squish and peek through the see-through vinyl window to find all the treasures hiding among the white beads floating inside. A fabric tag snapped to each toy lists all the hidden treasures inside and gives children some nice structured play. And mom and dad find their own treasures: that they’ve gotten some quiet and given their child a toy that will be fun and educational.

Measuring approximately 6.5″ square, this toy is irresistible with colorful soft corduroy on the back and polka-dots on the front. There are currently three styles available: Girl, Boy, and ABC. Peek-A-Boo Bags are recommended for children aged 3 and up and are great for a travel or car toy. Suggested retail price is $15.00.

When speaking about how engrossed her child becomes when playing with her own Peek-A-Boo Bag, Shumway explained that it’s not only good for kids. She joked, “My husband always takes our daughter’s bag and plays with it at church. It’s the only way I can get him to keep quiet through the service.” Now that’s something to treasure.
